2. Formatting

All manuscripts must be submitted electronically, in English and in Word format. AMA(Vancouver) style is required.

2.1. Title

A title page must be submitted with the manuscript including each author’s name, affiliation, and contact information.

2.2. Abstract

Each submission should have an abstract describing the study in terms of background, methods, results and conclusions. All abstracts should be accurate and detailed while remaining concise, consisting of 300 words or less.

2.3. Main Text

All sections and subsections should be numbered and labeled (E.g.: Section 1 “Formatting” Section 1.1 “Title”)

There is a page size requirement for all submissions. All pages must be 8.5x11 inches, portrait orientation. Text should be written in Times New Roman, font size 12.

2.4. Tables/Figures

All tables and figures should be included within body of text and numbered and referred to by number within the text. (E.g.: Ref. Table 2).

2.5. Acknowledgements

A list of any and all individuals or institutions that may have helped with cited research may be added in an acknowledgements section. This section may be added prior to the references.

2.6. References

In addition to citations in the main text, a complete list of references should be included as the final section of a manuscript. All references cited in the manuscript should appear, as per the AMA (Vancouver style). Find the most frequently requested information on it below:

  • Cited works are numbered in order of initial appearance in the text, and appear in the Reference List in numerical order.
  • Use arabic superscript numerals outside periods and commas, and inside colons and semicolons.
  • Authors’ names are inverted, and use only initials for first and middle names. No periods between initials.
  • In article titles only the first word and proper nouns and abbreviations that are ordinarily capitalized are capitalized.
  • Use accepted Index Medicus abbreviations of journal names.
  • For journals use issue numbers in parentheses after the volume number. If there is no issue number specify month before the year.

3. Fees

Article Publication Fees are collected for each accepted manuscript. Charges are as follows:

4. Manuscript Submission

All manuscripts must be submitted via the electronic submission form. Emailed submissions as well as hard copies will not be accepted.

The following checklist must be adhered to before submitting a manuscript:
1. The submission has not been previously published, nor presented before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
2. The submission file is in Word format.
3. Where available, URLs or DOIs for the references have been provided.
4. The text adheres to the requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines, which is found in About the Journal.
5. If submitting to a peer-reviewed section of the journal, the instructions in Ensuring a Blind Review have been followed.
6. Funding sources are listed in the manuscript.
7. The International Committee of Medical Journal Editors authorship recommendations have been followed in deciding who is listed as an author of the manuscript. More information is available at http://www.icmje.org/recommendations/browse/roles-and-responsibilities/defining-the-role-of-authors-and-contributors.html
8. If a clinical trial conducted by one or more authors of the submission is the subject of the manuscript, the clinical trial is registered in a public clinical trial registry such as clinicaltrials.gov.

Use the following instructions for acceptable submission:

9. Click “Submit a Manuscript” on the journal’s website.
10. Enter registration information; Check off “Author: Able to submit items to the journal” at bottom of form
11. Click “New Submission” on right of page
12. Choose the appropriate Journal Section from dropdown menu and click “Save and Continue”
13. Follow provided instructions for uploading submission file
14. Enter author information, title, abstract, keywords, acknowledgments, and references in the corresponding boxes; Click “Save and Continue”
15. Upload any supplementary files; Click “Save and Continue”
16. Pay submission fee(s); Click “Finish Submission”
17. Return to journal site to confirm submission

5. Additional Author Information

5.1. Conflict of Interest

The author is required to report any conflicts of interest, including institutional, personal, financial, or any other, as stated in the Publication Ethics and Malpractice Statement.

5.2. Correction of Errors

Submit any corrections to text and/or figures to [email protected]. Minor corrections will only be published electronically.

5.3. Peer-Review

To guarantee unbiased reviews, Internal Medicine Review uses a double-blind review process. In the case of any discrepancy the submission is sent to the Editorial Board for further review.

5.4. DOIs

All published manuscripts are given a Digital Object Identifier (DOI) by the Internal Medicine Review.

The journal offers assistance in getting any eligible paper indexed to the Europe PMC, an organization that allows indexing of articles funded by the following 27 organisations : http://europepmc.org/Funders/
